Sincerely warm greetings in Jesus Christ.

As we consider historical seasons, the precious Word of God con-
tinues to bring sweet Counsel to those who would receive it. In the
final season of humanity before the return of our Lord Jesus, God
has forewarned certain things will rise to the top of life experience.
He has stated that difficult days will precede His beloved Son’s
return. In this context, the words of Paul to Timothy prove helpful
to us today: “You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier
of Jesus Christ.” (II Timothy 2:3 ; NKJV)

Ruth Bell Graham wrote a sober warning to sincere followers of Jesus Christ, one that included glorious expectation:

On Feb. 11, 1973, then-Captain Jeremiah Denton returned
home after years of captivity as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam.
He made his way down the steps of the plane, stopped in front of
a microphone and said, “We are honored to have had the
opportunity to serve our country under difficult circumstances.”

I wonder if this is how the believer will feel when he stands one
day before God? God entrusts to some of His servants–without
explanation–the most difficult circumstances. Just look at Job,
Joseph, Daniel and the early martyrs.

A young man released from an oppressive, atheistic regime
was asked, “What was it like, being persecuted for your faith?”
“We thought it was the normal Christian life,” was the surprising,
yet candid, reply.

He was right. It is Christians in the West who are living abnormally.
Personally, I am grateful for the “abnormality.” But if it doesn’t last,
we must not question, complain or become bitter. Instead let us
accept each day as the Lord sends it, living obediently and faithfully
and not fearing what may come. We know that the glory ahead will
obliterate the grim past.

The fact of the matter is, there will be continued increase of hostility
against true Saints of God in Jesus Christ. Endurance Ministries
seeks to be of help during this final season of human history by
encouraging seekers of truth to go back to the Word of God for
help for today and bright hope for tomorrow. As we’re exposed to
His truths, we will find the necessary equipping to be those good
soldiers of Jesus Christ. We will be as those virgins of Matthew 25
who were adequately prepared for the Bridegroom’s return.

Soon we will find ourselves in a setting where Romans 8:18 will be
even more familiar than it is today. For those who desire to persist in
their faith, this passage will bring helpful incentive to press on.

“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy
to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (NKJV)

Remember? It’s those who endure to the end who will be saved
(Matthew 24:13). Please take encouragement in the truths that
follow. Be edified through further equipping for the days ahead by
growing in knowledge of what the Word says about our day. As you
glean, you will better discern the lateness of the hour. Global culture
is such that the antichrist could appear at any time. Are you as
prepared as God desires you to be? Are you ready, watching for
that day of gathering at the appearing of our Lord Jesus at the
final trumpet? Are you currently able to discern worldly (global,
continental, regional and local) events as a result of knowing what
our Lord has stated will occur just prior to His appearing? May God
bless and keep you as you continue abiding in Him.
